Orthotics are custom made inserts that are designed to address various issues in a person's feet, knees and back. Most orthotics are designed to replace the insole that came in a peron's shoes, but 3/4 length orthotics are designed to rest in shoes that don't have removable insoles, such as sandals.
Footstar Custom Orthotics are made using a variety of flexible, yet supportive materials, but the three primary materials we like to use are;
EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate): Also known as foam rubber, EVA is the most shock absorbent material we work with and is the primary component in our sneaker and casual shoe orthotics.
Carbon Fiber: An incredibly strong, yet flexible material often found in the frames of high end cars, tennis rackets, golf clubs and even jets. It can take an incredible amount of abuse without compromising it's stability or integrity, making it the perfect material for custom orthotics. We use carbon fiber for our boot and dress shoe orthotics
